Browser / Version: Firefox 119.0
Operating System: Mac OS Monterey V. 12.7.1
Tested Another Browser: Yes Chrome
Problem type: Something else
Description: Firefox:DuckDuckGo - broken link for restaurant equipment manual redirects to global porn site, loads multiple port links automatically.
Steps to Reproduce:
While using Firefox browser and using DuckDuckGo search engine, a topic of search "Duke steam table maintenance manual" was entered and came up with one resultant links, as follows:
https://proctorphoto01.blogspot.com/2021/12/duke-steam-table-manual-steamtables.html
That link immediately transferred to the following link: https://globalfun.earth/?credit=2ddbfc710b7f01b94ead6404c5947293
The site is a porn hub at:
https://globalfun.earth/?credit=2ddbfc710b7f01b94ead6404c5947293
As the website appeared, several sites opened without request such as:
https://chaturbate.com/cheryl_pride/?join_overlay=1&tour=hr8m&campaign=KK90V&disable_sound=0
...and
https://www.cam4.com/female/united-states?
Another: https://www.cam4.com/female/united-states?showSignupPopup&noAds=true&act=voluum_wi8feue1nmd0tpksi5a04v2q_200579:us_adsterra_ta_desktop_mainstream&suid=wi8feue1nmd0tpksi5a04v2q&utm_keyword=460562&utm_medium=popunder&utm_source=302&utm_campaign=acquisition_oct-05-2021&utm_content=&utm_term=index-female_nsfw_signup&push=false
On recognition of the issue, I immediately copied and pasted the links from "history" for broken link and malware reporting and closed the websites; checked for malware (a Malwarebytes subscriber); cleared the browser history after recording the links; and called Apple support, who advised to clear cache, cookies and history of the event.
These links were recorded to an email to myself for a record of the incident. The cache, cookies and browser history were cleared en toto for good measure.
On reporting this issue to Firefox, I noted that I should perform a similar search on a different browser, and I did so using Chrome. No redirect or broken links were encountered in the search results, and I went to the third back page of search results and saw nothing of consequence.
