URL: https://www.youtube.com/
Browser / Version: Firefox 142.0
Operating System: Windows 11
Tested Another Browser: Yes Chrome
Problem type: Design is broken
Description: Items are misaligned
Steps to Reproduce:
When in fullscreen mode the UI of the video player is scaled down, as if the browsers zoom settings was set to maybe something like 80%.
The provided screenshot is the appearance of the YouTube player while the site is set too 100% scale (default) on a 1920 x 1080p display. As you can hopefully see it appear scaled down from what it should normally look like at that resolution and default browser scaling.
This issue only happens when the video player is fullscreened and I'm viewing the video on youtube.com
The UI of the video player will scale when I scale the website (using ctrl and scroll or ctrl and "+"), but if I scale it to look "normal" (equivalent of 100% scale appearance) but only if of youtube.com is set to about 133% level, meaning as soon as I am no longer fullscreen the site is too zoomed in. There is like there is a disconnect between the sites browser scaling in fullscreen mode and the site when not i fullscreen mode.
The issue does NOT happen in these other scenarios:
- Doesn't happen on youtube.com when in new private tab
- Doesn't happen when viewing embedded YouTube videos on external sites
- Doesn't happen in other browsers.
- Doesn't happen in YouTube's cinematic mode, only in fullscreen.
Things I have tried so far (without being able to resolve the issue):
- Manually zooming the site in and out while in fullscreen
- Manually zooming the site in and out while not in fullscreen.
- Clear cookies and site data (multiple times)
- Cleared cookies for YouTube.com via Firefox security menu
- Manually disable all my extensions
- Visit site in Firefox troubleshooting mode.
