Description: Transition to high resolution images is not smoothly performed

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Navigate to: https://www.google.com/search?biw=360&bih=236&tbm=isch&sa=1&ei=KTeDWYf7CIGka5r9r6AM&q=Cars&oq=Cars&gs_l=mobile-gws-img.3..0l5.9898.10561.0.11074.5.4.0.1.1.0.363.1344.3-4.4.0....0...1..64.mobile-gws-img..0.5.1369.3..41.wDk55fExi_s#tbs=isc:brown,ic:specific&tbm=isch&q=Cars&chips=q:cars&imgrc=edqp4m-V3LtiFM:.
2. Swipe left to load new images.
3. Wait until low resolution image is loaded.
4. Observe transition to high resolution image.

Expected Behavior:
The transition is smoothly performed.

Actual Behavior:
The transition is accompanied by a flicker.

Note:

1. Not reproducible on Chrome (Mobile) 59.0.3071.125, on Firefox 54.0.1 Release and Firefox Nightly 57.0a1 (2017-08-02) without Chrome UA.
